COVID-19 Update: Sept 2021

September 21, 2021
Re: COVID 19 GNB UPDATE
Dear Parents/Guardians/Caregivers,
Due to a recent rise in COVID-19 infection cases, the Government of New Brunswick has introduced new regulations to slow the spread of COVID-19 and increase vaccination rates. Beginning Wednesday, September 22, all staff, guests, and participants will be required to show Proof of Vaccination to access Key Industries programs, events, parties, conferences, training workshops, or to visit “Welcome Home” Residential sites fourteen days after the second vaccine. Everyone (vaccinated or not) must also wear a mask in any public indoor space at all times.
Key Industries is considered a communal setting (working in large groups) and also provides services for adult residential. As such, staff, guests, or participants who are unable to receive a vaccination due to medical reasons must provide Proof of Medical Exemption. These persons (in addition to wearing masks inside our facilities at all times) must submit to regular COVID-19 testing as outlined on the GNB website.
Testing includes submitting to two rapid tests per week on Monday and Thursday (by experienced Key Industries staff) and one provincially administered COVID-19 test (at COVID-19 testing sites) per month. Rapid testing is completed at Key Industries by swabbing the inside of the cheek. Rapid testing will allow us to identify asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic cases of COVID-19. This provides an additional layer of protection for participants, staff, and others to help reduce the potential spread of COVID-19 at work, home, and the community. If you are sick or have any symptoms of COVID-19, you MUST stay at home and monitor your symptoms and submit to COVID-19 testing where appropriate.
